HELLO and welcome to Student of Stoicism. My name is Michelle, but my friends and family have always called me Mimi. I started this blog after a difficult breakup mostly to create positivity in my life and the world around me. (Bonus, it’s free therapy.) As a passionate advocate for personal growth and lifelong learning, my journey has led me to share the transformative power of Stoicism.
My Stoic Journey: I first heard of Stoicism in a college philosophy class where the principles of virtue, resilience, and specifically the dichotomy of control resonated deeply with me. Stoicism then found its way back into my life during a period of introspection and self-discovery. What began as a personal exploration has evolved into creating a community dedicated to sharing the profound wisdom of Stoicism with the world.
Why Stoicism Matters: Stoicism, for me, is not just a philosophy, but a way of life. It’s about navigating the complexities of existence with grace, finding purpose in the face of challenges, and fostering a mindset that cultivates a lasting well-being. I believe in the power of Stoicism to bring about positive transformation, and it’s my mission to share this ancient wisdom in a way that’s accessible and applicable to our modern lives.
What You’ll Find Here: At Student of Stoicism, I’ve curated a collection of resources, articles, and my hopes for a vibrant community where individuals can explore Stoicism, share their insights, and find support on their journey to a more meaningful and resilient life. Whether you’re new to Stoicism or a seasoned practitioner, this platform is designed to be a companion on your path to personal growth.
Join the Journey: I invite you to join me and the growing community here at Student of Stoicism. Let’s embark on a shared exploration of Stoicism, where we can learn from one another, discover new insights, and support each other in our quest for wisdom and well-being.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. I look forward to connecting with you, sharing in your experiences, and collectively embracing the teachings of Stoicism in our pursuit of a more intentional and fulfilling life.
With Stoic grace and manifesting magic,
your friend Mimi: Founder and Curator of Student of Stoicism.
